Welcome to
WR-Piano
Piano Restoration Specialists Since 1995
Wojciech Rosiński
WR-Piano is a piano restoration workshop near Kalisz, Poland. We take worn instruments apart, repair what decades of playing have used up, and rebuild them so they sound the way their makers intended.
We use traditional restoration techniques where they matter and modern methods where they help, so each instrument keeps its character and sound. Restoration is the only thing we do. A piano that leaves our workshop keeps its historical value and plays at its best.
About Us

Piano Craft from Kalisz
WR-Piano was founded in 1995 by Wojciech Rosiński, who learned the trade at the Calisia piano factory in Kalisz. Thirty years on, the work is still the same: take a tired instrument apart, understand what it needs, and rebuild it with respect for its history and character.
Our craftsmen are graduates of the Gustaw Arnold Fibiger school of piano building in Kalisz, and several of us used to work at the Calisia factory. Together that adds up to decades at the workbench. You can see it in the finish of a restored piano and, above all, hear it.
Every stage of a restoration matters. We take the instrument apart, repair the action and internal components, refinish the cabinet, then tune and voice it before it leaves the workshop. The goal is to keep the soul of the piano and hand it back in the best shape of its life.
We work near Kalisz, a city with an unusual piano history. Arnold Fibiger opened the first Polish grand piano factory here in 1878, and instruments from the region were played and praised by pianists such as Artur Rubinstein. We do our part to keep that tradition alive.

For Workshops & Dealers
Besides private owners, WR-Piano works as a restoration partner for piano workshops, dealers and stores across Europe. We restore, repair and refinish complete instruments or individual components on your behalf: soundboard, pinblock, strings, action, cabinet and voicing. You offer a full restoration service under your own name, and we do the work behind it.
Restoration Services
A full restoration touches every part of the piano. Here is what we do with each component so the instrument gets back its original sound, look and feel.

Soundboard Restoration
We inspect the soundboard for cracks, since this is the part that turns string vibration into sound. Cracks are shimmed with matching wood, then the board is stripped, revarnished and finished so it resonates cleanly again.

Pin Block Repair
The pinblock holds the tuning pins. When the pins sit loose, the piano will not hold its tuning, so we repair or replace the block and the pitch stays stable for years.

String Replacement
We remove the old strings and fit a complete new set at the correct tension. Several rounds of tuning let the new strings settle, and the piano gets its full, singing tone back.

Cast Iron Plate Refinishing
The cast iron plate is cleaned, sanded and repainted, which protects it and brings back its finish. We polish the screws and apply protective coatings so the plate carries the full string tension reliably.

Bridge Repair
The bridges carry string vibration to the soundboard, so their condition directly shapes the tone. We repair or rebuild them, refinish the surfaces and set the alignment precisely.

Cabinet Refinishing
We strip the old finish from the cabinet, sand it down and apply fresh lacquer or another coating, then polish it. The piano looks the way it did when it left the factory.

Action Mechanism Rebuilding
The action is the mechanism that makes the hammers strike the strings. We regulate or rebuild it so every key responds smoothly and the tone stays even across the keyboard.

Key Restoration
Keys are cleaned, repaired or replaced, depending on their condition. We also restore the ivory or synthetic key coverings, for the feel under the fingers as much as for the look.

Hammer Reshaping
We reshape, needle or harden the hammers to adjust the tone, then voice the piano so the sound is even across all registers, with no harsh or dull notes.

Piano Tuning
The piano is tuned several times over the course of the restoration. By the time all the work is done, the instrument holds its pitch and sounds the way it should.
"Every piano has its own voice. Our job is to keep that voice and give the instrument back its beauty and playability."
